Ken Lovern: Home

Welcome to the home for organ jazz by Ken Lovern's OJT. We are a Kansas City bred, funky organ jazz group. While on the site, please listen to music, check out our calendar, buy CDs, or just learn a little about our brand of organ jazz. Also cruise over to our Myspace page to check out some unreleased live recordings.

On Saturday, February 25, OJT and Vocalist Bukeka will do a fun gig with the swing dancing crew at the Marquee Lounge in the Downtown AMC Theatre Building. We are on for the last Saturday of February and March.

OJT and vocalist Bukeka are also playing at a new Venue for us at the Buzzz Coffee + Bar on Leap Day, Wednesday, February 29 and on Saturday, March 24. 8:30 to 11:30.

Details on the Calendar Page.

We recently added a new OJT Tune called "Funktonation" to the music page. This live recording was made by Paul Roberts at Music House School of Music. It is available for free download.

Happy Birthday Kansas! To celebrate Kansas's 150th birthday (can you say Sesquicentennial?) I posted two versions of my new arrangement of "Home on the Range." Complete with accordion melody, feel free to use this music to help with your Sesquicentennial events.

Our almost new CD with vocalist Bukeka Shoals (OJT + B) is still available. You can check out the tunes in the music section of this website and at the new MySpace website for OJT+B

OTJ + B got a nice review in a recent Pitch Mag. It is in the press section.

The classic OJT CD, pictured below, is available on fine computers everywhere at sites including www.abstractlogix.com. The CD is also available the old-fashioned way at KC area Borders and Barnes and Noble. You can also buy and download this CD from i-tunes. The link is on my "buy" page.

Ken Lovern's OJT is the Keyboard Magazine "Unsigned Artist of the Month" for May 2006 You can read the review in the "press" section of this website and follow the link to the online version of Keyboard Mag.
